Self-guided trekking in the Chaltén area where you can freely visit each of the famous trails that depart from the city to Mount Fitz Roy, Capri Lagoon, Torre Torre, among others.

The tour of the hotels in El Calafate begins at 8:00 am and then head towards the mythical Route 40. This route borders Lake Argentino, crosses the Santa Cruz River and La Leona River, and allows you to arrive, after 1 hour 15 minutes, to the old hotel of route Parador La Leona (almost a museum of Route 40), where you can have coffee with homemade cakes. Subsequently, we continue along the Viedma Lake, having the Andes Mountains in the background and, before reaching Chaltén, a stop will be made at the Viedma Glacier viewpoint. From here you can see a beautiful panoramic view of the Viedma Glacier, the Andes Mountains and the emblematic Cerro Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. After 3 hours of travel and 220 km you will arrive at the mountain village of El Chaltén.

The first activity is to visit the National Parks Interpretation Center. Then, from the center of El Chaltén, a food will be delivered and recommendations will be given on the different trails and points of interest in the area so that they can choose the one that most interests them to visit. They have between 5 and 6 hours to walk trails, viewpoints and lagoons.

At 17:00 you return to El Chaltén and start the journey back to El Calafate.

During the winter months, this option is recommended only for passengers who wish to make a specific hike, who have excellent physical condition and who are equipped with appropriate mountain clothing for low temperatures.
